RWANDAN NATIONAL ALMOST KILLED AS HE MOVED FROM UGANDA

One Rwandan national was on Monday shot in the left arm by Rwandan police as he tried to cross to Rwanda from Uganda.
According to the victim, Havugimana Jean Piere 28 years resident of Kabaya village, Gishara parish Rubaya Sub County, Gicumbi district in Rwanda, police shot him as he was carrying Irish potatoes about 50 kgs from Uganda to Rwanda.
The victim claims that he had crossed to Uganda during the day in company of a friend one Mahirwe for Irish potatoes and during evening hours, they decided to cross back through a porous border but were intercepted and shot at, injuring him in the left shoulder.
He narrates that he escaped back to Uganda at Rushaki A village Karujanga parish Rubaya subcounty where he has relatives who rushed him to Katuna community medical clinic where is undergoing treatment.
Police was notified, visited the scene and inquiries are underway.
