Police in Ntungamo district are investigating circumstances under which a male Rwandan national was discovered nearly dead in a farm near pearl flower garden owned by the minister of Education and sports,Janet Kataha Museveni.
Police reported that the farm owner, Geoffrey Mushaija, a resident of Omubuyoora Cell in Rwemiriro Ward, Rubaare Town Council, Rushenyi County, Ntungamo District, notified them that the victim was found lying helplessly in the bush over the weekend.
The victim, who identified himself to our www.mknewslink.com reporter as Ibrahim Ruhumuriza, 56, said he was from Kasaana in Nyagatare District, Rwanda, and had moved to Uganda some time ago. He initially worked with Pearl Flower Company but later left to work as a security guard for Engineer Paul Kato from the Uganda National Roads Authority in Biharwe, Mbarara.
Ruhumuriza explained that he left that job to visit a friend, known only as Nsengiyunva, whom he had worked with at Pearl Flower Company and who was receiving treatment at Kisiizi Hospital. After reaching Rubaare, he suffered from diarrhea, and people would avoid him due to a strong odor and a swarm of flies surrounding him. He decided to take shelter in a nearby farm next to Pearl Flower Garden, where police eventually found him and took him to Rubaare Health Centre IV for treatment.
The officer in charge of Rubaare ASP ilim Muzoora, explained that investigation is underway to discover how the victim got into the bush.
