RWANDAN SEX WORKER MURDERED IN KABALE

Police in Kabale District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a 34-year-old Rwandan national sex worker in Kabale Municipality.

The deceased has been identified as Nyirabizimana Colodina, a Rwandan national and resident of Kigongi A cell, Kigongi ward, central division, Kabale municipality.

Nyirabizimana had been working as a sex worker, renting room 09 at New California Bar and Lodge in Kigongi since July 2023.

Her lifeless body was discovered by the manager, Evan Twinomugisha, around 8:00 AM. According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, the deceased was last seen in the bar on the night of October 8, 2023, in the company of an unidentified male customer. It was only the next morning, on October 9, 2023, around 8:00 AM, while the manager was collecting rent payment that he found her dead on her bed.

Elly Maate further explained that a report of sudden death was promptly filed at Kabale police station. The scene was visited and thoroughly documented. Subsequently, the deceased’s body was retrieved and conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
