‘RWANDESE WOMEN DONATED TO MEN IN MASINDI’

Masindi Resident District Commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, has dismissed allegations that there are Rwandese women being donated to Banyoro men in Masindi in district.
There have been several reports on the local radio stations and the news papers that there are Rwandese women who are being given out to Banyoro men; something that has attracted a lot of concern from Banyoro women in Bunyoro sub region.
The reports indicate that after getting a woman of their choice men are given 10 iron sheets, 50 KGs of posh and 500,000 shillings for each woman.
Early this months, the Prime minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom;
Norman Lukumu asked security in Bunyoro to swing into action and investigate the matter such that they would ascertain the exact truth surrounding this allegation.
This matter sparked a lot of reaction from the public others saying there could be a planned move to grab land from the Banyoro.
However, Nyakahuma Godfrey, the head of security in Masindi says that
they have carried out thorough investigations into the matter and discovered that these are false allegations which are aimed at inciting the public.
He adds that this matter has worried people in the region saying that this matter is bringing insecurity in the region.
Nyakahuma urged men in Bunyoro to concentrate on
productive work, noting that some had resorted to finding out where Rwandese women are being paraded; something which is ridiculous.
He adds that security cannot sit and see this happening noting that according to the phone calls is receiving women in Bunyoro were planning to demonstrate over the matter.
He adds that people should not to connect him with this matter saying that no woman is being paraded in the play grounds of Masindi . He also explains that as an RDC of Masindi is not aware of this nonsense.
He also warned the media to stop exaggerating this matter noting that Radios in Masindi should run balanced stories concerning this matter.
According to the investigation carried out by our reporter men in Masindi have shown interest in the Rwandese women by asking where these women could be found.
