RWENZURURU KINGDOM DEMANDS FOR COMPENSATION FOR RESIDENTS KILLED BY POLICE

Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu has asked government to compensate the people
who were shot and injured at a funeral vigil in Kyabarungira
sub-county in Kasese district.
The Acting Prime Minister, Johnson Thembo Kitsumbire told www.mknewslink.com news website that
although the police gave some money during the burials, it should also
compensate the families and meet the medical bills for those nursing
wounds at Kilembe hospital.
A police officer who has been identified as Opalat Bainomugisha No.
40090 PC went wild on the fateful night shooting 4 women and 4
children at a funeral vigil on Kaghorwe village in Kyabarungira
sub-county Busongra north constituency in Kasese district.
One of the children died on spot and others were rushed to Kilembe
Hospital where they area receiving treatment.
He condemned the act and asked government to put the suspect to book.
However, this reporter learnt that a high ranking Police officer from
the Uganda Police Force headquarters in Kampala attended the burial of
the deceased child in Kyabarungira.
He made a big contribution towards the burial of the child and later
visited the injured at Kilembe Hospital contributing Sh. 1,000,000 to
each of the injured for medical treatment.
