The Bishop South Ankole Diocese Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe has lashed out at political and civil leaders who are fond of proud (omwetunguro) and pride to stop it, cooperate with others to develop Ntungamo District.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe said that the District will not make any strides when political and civil leaders are still bickering noting that this hampers development.
He asked them to embrace unity and coexistence because every human being complements each other and God gave everyone special talent to help one other.
He made remarks on Tuesday 11th June during the official launching of Ntungamo District staff fellowship being conducted every Thursday for various denominations in the district council hall.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe also urged them to be good servants and committed to serve without discrimination because when the district fails they will be blamed.
He hailed the district leadership for securing every Thursday for different religions to hold fellowship and prayers.
The chief Administrative officer (CAO) Joanitah Nakityo noted that she initiated the prayer and fellowship over the bad spirit within the leaders failing to cooperate.
Nakityo commended Bishop Ahimbibwe for officially commissioning the fellowship with Holy Communion saying that the fellowship has yielded fruit as district approved the 48bn budget for the 2019/2020 financial year without conflicts.
She also stressed that since most of employers spend their time in office, there is need to have such prayers and turn to God in order to be corruption free.
The district chairperson Dennis Singahache tasked all leaders to get saved and work for the people of Ntungamo diligently.
Singahache appealed to them to shun cheap politics which sabotage the district development.
