SAFARIS CEO ARRESTED FOR CONNING GERMANY NATIONAL

Police in Kabale have arrested the CEO Gatatu safaris Uganda Ltd for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence.
Richard Tusasibwe commonly known as Gatatu received 21,500 US Dollars from Dr Lentschig Markus Gunter a Germany national as a payment of safari for his entire family vocation in Uganda.
It’s alleged that in the month of July 2019, the two using online marketing agreed on specified amount of 21,500 USD to be paid for the activities that included; Park fees, Gorilla and chimpanzee tracking, game and boat drive fees, rhino’s sanctuary, accommodation, transport and tour guide plus all taxes.
On 10/07/19, Dr Lentschig then sent 20,000 USD as deposit and on 25/07/19 he arrived in Uganda with his four other family members through Katuna via Kanombe international airport Kigali Rwanda.
However, on arrival in Kabale, they paid more 1,500 USD making it 21,500 USD. To their dismay, when they went to Kisoro on 27/07/19, they were told they hadn’t reserved them accommodation. That’s when they became suspicious and reported to police.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson,Since then Tusasibwe has been at large until 11th August 2019 when he was got from his hide out at Lake Bunyonyi.
