SECURITY GUARD MURDERED IN RUKIGA

RUKIGA
Police in Rukiga district are hunting for unknown assailant(s) who allegedly murdered a security guard.
The deceased has been identified as Isaac Mwesigye 42 a security guard attached to Ukombozi security service.
According to the Kigezi region Police spokesman Elly Maate, the deceased was guarding at Twiibi Petrol station in Rwamucucu Rukiga district which was attacked by thugs this morning at 01:00AM
Ronald Turyahebwa a pump attendant at Twibi petrol station says he was asleep in a room at the petrol station, when he heard thugs trying to break the handle of the door to the room in which he was sleeping. He made an alarm and thugs fled.
Turyaheebwa narrated to police that he came out of the room calling for rescue from the guard, but there was no response.
He went ahead to call his phone but the security guard could not pick
This morning at around 06:30AM, the pump attendant discovered the security guard lying dead on ground at his work station.
Police was alerted,
Maate says the scene was visited and examined, the body is intact and had no marks, The body was conveyed to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Maate called on Security guards should adhere to the guidelines of non-deployment of single persons.
He also noted that the use of sticks without any other weapon at the point of deployment is prohibited.
