SENTARO RETAINS KABALE MUNICIPALITY MAYOR SEAT

The Kabale municipality mayor Byamugisha sentaro has been declared the winner for the mayoral race.
Sentaro an independent candidate polled 8060 votes beating his rival Richard Muhanguzi (FDC) who polled 3328 votes followed by NRM Paul Birungi who garnered 2068 after the final tally.
Others who were in the race were Sam Tindimwebwa (UPC) who got 101 while independents; Ambrose Owamani who polled 30 and Wilson Mbabazi polled 80 votes.
Kabale district returning officer Nusisi Nadulu declared the winner at Kabale district tally centre in Makanga hill on Monday late in the night.
With no complaints in regard to the results on the declaration forms, Nadulu declared Sentaro the winner sending the crowd into jubilation before he was whisked away.
