Quest for a new diocese, central Ankole diocese continues to catch fire as stakeholders from both kampala and sheema coverage at St. Emmanuel COU in kabwohe tomorrow 3rd November 2023 to generate more ideas that will force Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni to allow them secede from west ankole diocese.
According to one of the stakeholders Mr Benard Makaru, tomorrow‘s meeting that will be held at the Proposed headquarters of the diocese at St Emmanuel COU will as well focus on finishing the office of the Bishop and his staff as well as Diocesan offices.
He added that the progress of construction is not on the bad stage because the office of the bishop and Diocesan offices are at the level of finishing.
Bishop Johnson instituted a committee to fast-track, do final grant of the diocese. However in September while at St. Emmanuel confirming confirmands made Christians loose hope of getting their own diocese. “if you Sheema Christians need diocese, you must beg me I am the giver and taker.” “Imwe aba sheema mwaba nimwenda diocese nimuteka kunyeshengyereza diocese ninyi ngine”.
In October, Christians of sheema petitioned Bishop Johnson in a letter to fast-track central ankole diocese but he never replied them. They decided to take him to his boss the Archbishop where the issue is being handled.
The proposed central ankole diocese needs to be handled with care by the bishop Johnson as it soiled the clean record of immediate retired Bishop of west ankole diocese Yona mwesigwa katoneene.
