SHEEMA: CHURCH OF UGANDA PRIEST ACCUSED OF DEFILING 16 YEAR OLD GIRL

Police in Sheema district are hunting for an Anglican priest who allegedly defiled a 16 year old girl.

The suspect Erimonsi Mubangira 60 years is a priest of Oburama Church of Uganda in Sheema municipality.

According to Benon Mugyenyi OC Kihunda police post, Erimonsi mubangira defiled a minor resident of Kihunda cell Sheema municipality, Sheema district.

Mugyenyi told www.mknewslink.com reporter that the suspect was arrested by Police who later released him on bond after his reverend claimed that arresting him would tarnish the name of the Church.

He added that they later realized that the bond was a mistake and tried to re arrest him but he is currently hiding himself in unknown place.

The victim narrated that the priest who found her near the church forced her into his house and defiled her after making an alarm but no one was there to rescue her.

However, Jennifer Barimu Mother’s Union leader of Oburama C.O.U told this reporter that Erimonsi claimed that the victim broke into his fence and when he tried to chase her away, she refused which forced him to seriously cane her.
