In Sheema—
Sheema Development Association has today delivered a theater bed worth 17.8 million to Kitagata hospital from the money contributed by members through a Whatsapp group.
The bed according to the medical superintendent Dr. Kabwisho replaced the very old one bought during Obote regime in 1979 and three patients had fallen off it as they were under operation.
Johnson Musinguzi Byarabaha hailed members of the association for touching deep into their pockets to buy such a bed for the people of Kitagata and Ankole during these hard times of Corona virus.
Musinguzi requested Sheema district Local Government leaders to partner with hospital management committee to write a proposal to ministry of health such that Kitagata hospital can be upgraded into regional referral hospital for greater Bushenyi and other districts in the south western Uganda.
He added that a regional referral hospital like Mbarara gets 10b annually unlike Kitagata which gets nothing for capital development except salaries, money for medicine and other utilities.
Sheema development Association is an association of people of Sheema who work within and outside Sheema with an aim of developing their district in Education, Agriculture among others .
Earlier ,the association had bought a number of mattresses for the hospital.
The district Chairman Can. David Kabigumira asked Sheema Development association members to remember Kabwohe health centre IV because its theater bed is very old and can not handle patients any more.
