SHEEMA: MAN DETAINED FOR FORGING NEPHEW’S LAND TITLE, TRYING TO CHASE HIM AWAY

Police in Sheema have arrested 53 year old man for forging his nephew’s land title and trying to chase him away from the land.
The arrest of Asa Mugarura Otandenka was on 7th April 2021 ordered by the Sheema RDC Frank Kyerere after residents ganged up to cut down his banana plantation.
Isaac Hangamisho, Mugarura’s nephew alleges that he trusted his uncle with his land title but was surprised when he recently invited him to Mbarara city, gave him forged papers and asked for his finger print on them.
Hangamisho told www.mknewslink.com reporter that his uncle went as far as trying to chase some people from the land in question.
RDC Frank Kyerere confirmed the arrest of the suspect adding that he possesses forged copies of the land title, with signatures of people who died long time ago and without a stamp of the area chairperson.
Sheema DPC Scovia Birungi assured the residents that no man can comfortably stay on another one’s property without his consent while Police watch on adding that the suspect will be kept at Sheema police station until he produces the original land title.
