In Sheema
Muhereza Willis ‘master planner ‘ one of the NRM aspiring candidates in Sheema North parliamentary by-election promised people of Kigarama sub County that he will give their children bursaries and buy books for every child if they vote him into power.
He revealed that he suffered a lot during his school times because his parents were poor, thus he does not want other youths to undergo the same situation.
He added that many girls from Sheema North drop out of schools especially during their menstruation periods due to insufficient pads noting that he will put sanitary pad processing factory in every parish and pads will be distributed to all schools free of charge.
Frank Owoyesigyire who is also competing for the same post, warned his fellow competitors to stop promising heaven and earth to people yet they know that they can’t get heaven on earth.
“I have heard some of my colleagues promising to build bridges, and in Sheema North we don’t have even a stream nor river, now where will you build bridges and for what?” Frank asked.
Frank also asked Kigarama people where he comes from, to stop voting candidates from other sub counties saying that since 1962 they have been voting outsiders but no one has ever remembered them to atleast bring social services nearer to them.
Sheema North parliamentary NRM primary elections are to take place on Thursday 13th August 2018 and general elections on 8th August 2018.
