By Syrus Nayebare
In Sheema—
Police have today reacted to the trending video of minister Elioda Tumwesigye supporters demonstrating that they are not contented with Sheema municipality MP NRM primaries results.
The supporters of Minister Elioda yesterday demonstrated against the victory of Sheema municipality MP NRM flag bearer Dickson Kateshumbwa, Katesh claiming that he rigged their votes and therefore they are not ready to work with him.
They accused Police of conniving with Kateshumbwa to rig Elioda’s votes saying that Police should be non partisan but for the case of Sheema police, it is a different story.
However, the head of operations Sheema central police Asp Akalivenyima Levi rubbished all the above allegations saying that it is just nonsense.
According to him, Sheema elections went on well, they were free and fair, they have never received any complaints.
He added that they were not aware of the demonstration, adding it was therefore unlawful.
He said that the video trending on social media shows that they seemed like they were in the bush, therefore they have started Investigations on the matter and termed it as an act of cowardness.
Sheema district NRM registrar Franklin Ahimbisibwe refuted the allegations by the demonstrators saying that as NRM electoral commission, they know that Kateshumbwa won the elections genuinely.
