Mbarara magistrate’s court has today re-adjourned a case in which a woman from Sheema district accuses Kabwohe Health centre IV workers of prescribing ARVS for her though she was not infected.
His worship Samuel Twakire who presided over the court sitting noted that Justice Kiguddu the lead judge in the matter is still absent from court thus re-adjourned the case to 20th .August.2021.
However, the complainant Faridah Kiconco laments that she has already spent much on transport from Sheema to Mbarara since the judge in the matter has not been to court for two sittings now.
Farida Kiconco a resident of Kiziiba Kagango Sheema municipality alleges that she was started on ARVs though she was HIV Negative.
Kiconco narrates that she went to Kabwohe health centre IV and took blood samples which turned out HIV positive.
The 36 year old explains that doctors advised her to start taking ARV’S which she did for some years but later developed general body weakness with her skin turning yellowish.
She decided to seek medical assistance at Mbarara Regional referral hospital where she was tested for the second time and results turned out to be negative.
She says she has since sold off almost all the family property like land to cater for her worrying life and she now demands for one billion shillings from Sheema Local Government.
