SHEEMA YOUTH REPRESENTATIVES DEMONSTRATE OVER TRANSPORT FACILITATION

Sheema district youths representatives from two sub counties yesterday after elections demonstrated over their transport facilitation.

The youths from Kigarama and Bugongi who had come to represent their sub counties in youth elections which took place at Sheema headquarters in Kibingo were denied their transport refund of 20000 each.

According to sources, the money provided was not enough for the youths from the three counties of Sheema municipality, Sheema south and Sheema north.

Police and UPDF intervened to calm the situation so that the returning officer could finally announce the winners.

 Sheema returning officer Baguma John Honest declared Edwin Mugumya the Male youths councilor with 221 votes followed by Benson Beinomugisha with 207 votes, Derrick Atuhaire with 67 votes and Sadick Kanyesigye in last position with 02 votes.

He announced Patience Ayesiga as the Female youths councilor with 407 votes having defeated Editah Kyarimpa who managed to raise 70 votes.
