SIX ARRESTED FOR STEALING GUN FROM POLICE OFFICER IN KABAROLE

Police in Fort portal have arrested six people suspected to be behind the stealing of an AK47 gun from a police officer from Hakibale sub county Kabarole district.
According to the Regional police commander Rwenzori West SP Kayondo Lunkanga, on 3rd December in Hakibale sub county Kabarole district SSgt David Nkwangu an OC Hakibale police post reported that unknown people had stolen a gun from him.
SP Kayondo disclosed that this forced police to start up a hunt for the suspects until they were yesterday arrested from different places and the gun recovered in Kibasi parish in the house of one family in Hakibale.
Some of the suspects were arrested from Kasambya Mubende district and others from Hakibale Sub County.
He added that the gun was stolen with 29 rounds of ammunition but one is missing thus police are investigating where it is.
Meanwhile,the suspects and the OC are now detained in Fort portal police custody as police still carryout more investigations.
