Bank of Uganda (BoU) has dropped David Tibamwenda a son to the Director of Human Resource of Bank of Uganda Dr. Jan Tibamwenda.
Tibamwenda junior (David) who works with DFCU bank had recently participated in the ongoing recruitment exercise of 40 banking officer’s jobs in Bank of Uganda. The recruitment though undertaken by a hired firm was and is supervised by Dr Tibamwenda.
When media broke the story recently, the public expressed anger complaining that Dr. Tibamwenda is caught by conflict of interest to be supervising an exercise where his son is competing with others for a job causing the bank to drop him.
The Bank has also dropped Agaba Moses Edmond son of Charles Mwesigwa a retired BoU deputy Director in the department of procurement.
Issues were raised over the qualifications of the two sons of the Bou directors although Kelvin Kizito Kiyingi the BoU deputy director of communications told the www.mknewslink.com that they possessed the required qualifications.
Indeed the two appeared on BoU‘s long list from which a shortlist has been made and their names are missing which confirms that they have been dropped.
Kiyingi has also denied allegations that other directors had sneaked in their children in the recruitment.
Kiyingi also explained that some applicants who were called to the Human Resource department were to present their academic documents for vilification.
Some members of the public have demanded to look at the list of the successful candidates to confirm whether Bou directors and bosses will recruit their children or not.
We are waiting for the successful candidates to see if they are children of the BoU directors” a parent stated.
