SPEAKER AMONG SNUBS KINONI HEALTH CENTER FUNDRAISER

The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Annet Anita Amongi yesterday (Saturday) snubbed the Kinoni Health Centre 4 Maternity Ward Fundraiser and delegated her husband Moses Magogo the member of Parliament Budiope East in Buyende district who also doubles as the President Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).
On a function that was attended by 70 members of parliament from various Districts and organized by Amos Kankunda the Legislator Rwampara County and Molly Asiimwe the district woman representative a total sum of over UGX .600 million was raised towards the construction of a modern maternity ward at Kinoni Health Centre 4.
In her Speech that was delivered by Moses Magogo the president Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Rt Hon Among ,revealed that Government of Uganda through the ministry of health has moved to appropriate Ugx.650 million towards the upgrade of Kinoni Health Centre to a status of a health centre 4 in Rwampara District with in this financial year.
Amongi further revealed that government is also considering upgrading Kinoni Girls Secondary School through setting up a well stocked library , both computer and science laboratories among others .
The speaker of parliament added that government through the ministry of works will provide road equipment with in this financial year to Rwampara District to work on various roads with in the district.
Julius Tusiime Karuhanga the Legislator Rwampara East commended the efforts exhibited by government to have Kinoni Health Centre upgraded , noting that this initiative is inline with the government’s move to have every Health Centre upgraded.
Amos Kankunda the Legislator Rwampara County intimated to this online publication that as area Members of parliament they are focused on elevating the status of health in the district and thus welcomed the government’s efforts to elevate Kinoni Health Centre to a hospital.
Molly Asiimwe Rwampara District women representative also commended the efforts put across by Rwampara people towards the construction of a modern maternity ward at Kinoni Health 4 and noted that this will save the lives of young women that used to die during delivery.
As part of the ceremony, Rwampara district had a friendly match between the Parliament Team Versus Rwampara District Leaders and the match ended in favor of parliament team which hammered Rwampara District 3 goals to 1 goal.
