In Kampala—
Speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has cautioned over 250 support protocol staff from engaging in sex during the eight-day Commonwealth parliamentary conference in Munyonyo.
Kadaga made the stunning warning while opening one-day training on the diplomatic Etiquette.
Parliament of Uganda will host over 10000 delegates from over 53 member commonwealth parliamentary association in Munyonyo.
While opening the training at Parliament, speaker Rebecca Kadaga warned the participants to always respect themselves after her office received protests from women who missed out on the national identification exercise for the children who failed to trace the origins of the fathers who had participated in some of the diplomatic conferences in Kampala.
” Kindly respect your body and dignity when welcoming and guiding these delegates and please, please, dont enter with them in their rooms especially you young girls because we will not trace these diplomats when they leave problems behind. You know what I mean,” Kadaga said amidst loud laughter from the audience
Speaker Rebecca Kadaga also used the platform to ban indecent dress code which will leave a bad image to both parliament of Uganda and the nation at large.
“The dress code is really paramount right away from the group which will be at the airport to receive the guests, for God sake dont put on green hair, miniskirts, and short dresses to receive our guests.”
The 8-day conference will commence on 22 September up to 29 with a theme ‘adaptation engagement and education of parliaments in a rapidly changing commonwealth’.
