TRANSFER NEWS:
Pogba swap
Man Utd star Paul Pogba could be heading to Barcelona in a shock swap deal involving Ivan Rakitic, reports in Spain claim.
France international Pogba struggled to impress under Jose Mourinho this season, with the £89m midfielder having numerous bust-ups with the Special One.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Mourinho is willing to include Pogba in a stunning swap deal for Barca midfielder Rakitic.
They say the United boss is desperate to sign the Croatia international this summer – and he’s happy to lose Pogba in the process.
Man Utd blow
Manchester United transfer target Serge Milinkovic-Savic struggled to hid his excitement when asked about joining Juventus.
“I’m with the national team,” said the 23-year-old after Serbia’s 2-1 defeat to Switzerland on Friday night.
“The World Cup is a beautiful thing and now I’m not thinking about what to do next but only to my national team and do everything possible to reach the last 16.”
Asked specifically about joining Juventus, Milinkovic-Savic tried to play it cool, adding: “I can smile, but I have to think solely about the World Cup.
“Then we’ll see what to do.”
Rugani on the move?
Daniele Rugani is closing in on a move to Chelsea according to reports in Italy.
Tuttosport claim that Juventus are already making plans on how best to replace the Italian international, who is a target of Chelsea’s incoming new manager Maurizio Sarri.
The 23-year-old worked with Sarri at Empoli and is thought to be receptive to a reunion at Stamford Bridge.
And now Tuttosport claim that Juventus want Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid and Ajax star Matthijs De Ligt in to replace Rugani and Mehdi Benatia.
Any deal could set Chelsea back as much as £40million.
Fekir to Man Utd?
Nabil Fekir could be heading for a shock move to Manchester United, after Lyon president admitted speaking to Jose Mourinho in Russia.
Yesterday he revealed Real Madrid were interested and claimed other big European teams were too.
And today, speaking to BeIN sport, he claimed he’d been in talks with the Manchester United manager.
Aulas said: “I was with Jose Mourinho the other day. We had long discussions.”
Alderweireld update
Man Utd remain interested in Toby Alderweireld as they look to bolster their defence this summer.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Belgium star and is keen on doing a deal with Tottenham this summer.
But Manchester United are worried about being held to ransom by Tottenham for a player who turns 30 next season.
United are desperate to add strength to their defence and have held talks with Spurs over a deal for Tottenham.
They did initially want to do a deal before the World Cup but it quickly became apparent that Tottenham would not negotiate easily.
Tottenham are inclined to sell this summer ahead of next season when a clause in Alderweireld’s contract can be triggered and he can be signed for just £25m.
They are looking for around £60m this summer with United seeing if they can get better value elsewhere.
Wilshere warning
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been warned by Chelsea star Olivier Giroud following his decision to let Jack Wilshere leave the club.
England international Wilshere announced this week that he’ll leave the Emirates this summer after 17 years at Arsenal.
And Giroud, who was Wilshere’s team-mate for five years at Arsenal, says Emery’s decision could come back to haunt him.
“It’s big news and I’m very sad to hear it, because he’s a good friend,” said Giroud.
“Jack is a good lad, a very good player, very talented and it is a shame he has had so many injuries.
“But he came back well last season and it was good to see him on the pitch, enjoying his game and being strong.
“It’s a big loss and I hope he will bounce back as soon as possible at a good club.”
Hazard replacement?
Eden Hazard could be replaced at Chelsea by Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore, Duncan Castles claims.
He told the Transfer Window Podcast: “One player Chelsea have taken an interest in is Adama Traore, who Paris St-Germain are looking at as well.
“That tells you where Chelsea are at.
“They see Adama Traore as a potential signing if they have to sell Willian or Eden Hazard. He’s certainly not an upgrade on either of those players.
“He would need a lot of development.”
Hazard has been tipped to join Real Madrid this summer.
Sandro going nowhere
Man Utd are set to miss out on Juventus star Alex Sandro, reports in Italy claim.
The Brazil international has been tipped to head to Old Trafford this summer.
However, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Mourinho will not sign Sandro in the coming weeks.
They say Juventus are already planning for next season – and Sandro is will be in their starting line-up.
Juve see Sandro as their long-term left-back, with Joao Cancelo, currently of Valencia, set to start the season at right-back.
Asensio bid?
Liverpool have tabled a £123m bid for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, stunning reports in Spain claim.
Spanish news outlet Diario Gol sensationally say Jurgen Klopp is desperate to land the winger this summer.
They say the Reds have tabled a £123m (€140m) bid for the highly-rated 22-year-old.
