12students of St. Leos Kyegobe SSS arrested and distained at Fort portal police
Police in Fort Portal have arrested 12 students of St. Leos Kyegobe alleged to have led the strike that took place yesterday.
Yesterday in the at around 11:00PM students of St.Leos Kyegobe led by the S4s staged a demonstration accusing their head teacher for refusing to hire two non students to help them win the regional ball games two that are going on at Nyakakasura school in Kabarole district.
According to Musa Tibakirana DPC Kabarole , yesterday received information from the head teacher St. Leos college that students wants to attack him and destroy school property claiming that he had refused to bring non students to play in their team.
He said that the head teacher did not welcome the student’s idea saying that it’s illegal thus leading to the strike.
The police rushed to the school and found students rowdy who were stoning the administration block and wanted to burn the head teacher’s house.
He said that 12 students have been arrested and detained at fort portal police.
Meanwhile during the scuffle one student stained injuries who is currently hospitalized at Fort Portal Regional Referral hospital.
However Musa further disclosed that the school administration together with Board and have agreed to suspend all the S4 students at home.
