Male Parents have been advised to always pay school fees for their children instead of resorting to alcohol consumption.
The advice was raised by the Central Division chairperson Steven Karuti who was speaking at the Annual General Meeting of Ryamabengwa Primary school in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality on Thursday 27th February 2020.
Karuti said in most cases, women suffer and pay fees for their children while men drink alcohol from morning to evening and even forget their family responsibilities.
“President Museveni will not pay for your child but the government will just add a contribution on what you pay, if you wait for him to come then you have a big problem,†Karuti added.
The chief Guest, Dan Mugyenyi who is the Municipal Education Officer advised all the teachers to work tirelessly and make sure that pupils pass the examination.
During the meeting, the parents also appreciated their teachers for the great performance in the last 5 years examination. In 2019, Out of 29 pupils, 15 passed in Division I and 14 passed in Division II.
Every teacher received a blanket and a bar of soap as gifts given to them by the parents for their good service delivery.
Silver Nkahikayo, the school head teacher thanked parents for their continued support to the school. He asked them to keep providing them with learning facilities tirelessly and suggested to them to allow the school to start preparing lunch for all the pupils to always avoid inconveniences.
The meeting was also attended by Marvin Baryaruha, the Bushenyi Ishaka MP Contestant, Dickens Musasirwe who represented MP Arinda Gordon Cowboy, central division councilors, local leaders, some school head teachers, teachers, parents and others.
