School stakeholders have been advised to stop choosing school committee chairpersons who do not have children in the schools they head if they are to develop them.
According to the Ntungamo Municipality town clerk Tandeka a committee chairperson who does not have a child in the same school he heads cannot mind about the goodness and welfare there
Tandeka said that most school committees are headed by parents who do not have children in such schools a thing that lead to the poor performance of some of the schools.
He made remarks on Friday during a one day stakeholders mobilization meeting and awarding of best pupils who performed well in last year’s PLE results of Maato Muslim PS in Ntungamo Municipality held in school’s premises.
The chief facilitator Yorokam Mugisha former deputy principal Kiyoora PTC told school stakeholders to play their roles because the school is theirs’,
Mugisha advised teachers to be good role models if they are to produce quality grades at primary seven saying that pupils always imitate and get inspiration from them.
The mayor Ntungamo Municipality Jacob Kafureeka thanked the foundation body and all school’s committees for teamwork which has helped the school to perform well. Kafureeka challenged them to work with determination and zeal for the betterment of Maato Muslim PS.
The Head teacher Maato Muslim PS Mununuura Bernard applauded teachers, parents and children for commitment and dedication noting that it enabled them to perform well.
Mununuura pledged to keep on awarding best performing pupils, staff and non staff every year.
Five best pupils who performed well, teachers and cooks were awarded gifts.
Other speakers were Twaha Kagoba and Nkirirehi Johnson.
