SUSPECT IN RUKUNGIRI WOMAN’S MURDER FINALLY ARRESTED

Police in Rukungiri have finally arrested 55 year old man who has been on run after stabbing a woman to death.

The suspect Deograsias Babweyoreka a resident of Rushinya cell in Burama Parish, Bwambara Sub County in Rukungiri district went into hiding on Thursday after stabbing  Veneranda Nyinamisango  to death accusing her of conniving with her husband to steal his 9 million shillings.

According to Elly Maate Kigezi region police spokesman the deceased and her husband have been staying at the home of the suspect for two months until he accused them of stealing his 9 million shillings.

“On April 4th2021,the suspect accused the deceased and her husband of stealing shs 9 M from him .He went and reported the couple to Bikurugu police and the deceased was arrested with her husband and another suspect,” Maate narrated.

Maate added that the deceased was released after her husband’s confession but when she went back to the suspect’s home to pick her luggage, the two fought leading to her death.

The police spokesman told www.mknewslink.com that the suspect went into hiding until yesterday when he was netted by residents who handed him to Police
