SUSPECTED EBOLA VICTIM ADMITTED AT IBANDA HOSPITAL.

A suspected patient of Ebola was yesterday admitted at Ibanda hospital in Ibanda Municipality after being referred by the management of Ibanda central clinic where he was first admitted.
The patient was identified as Hamidu Barba aged 68, a resident of Bugarama cell in Bisheeshe division in Ibanda Municipality, Ibanda district.
According to the clinical officer Ms.Immaculate Atugonza, a staff at the Ibanda Central Clinic told them that Hamidu Barba was admitted to the clinic while too weak and vomiting blood.
She added that when his conditions continued to deteriorate, he was screened for ebola and test showed positive results.a. He was referred to the main hospital at Ibanda hospital for further examinations.
Mr. Vicent Mugisha, the Ibanda District surveillance Focal Person in the department of health has confirmed receiving the patient.
A sample of blood has been taken from the suspected patient and sent to Uganda Virus Reaserch Institute Entebbe, Mugisha noted
He appealed to the public to be calm and continue visiting clinics and hospital as daily routine till the results are out.
The victim is being admitted into intensive care unit and the place is out of bounds for non staff.
