SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER ARRESTED IN RUKUNGIRI

Police in Rukungiri district is holding a 21years old man in the coustody who kidnapped a 3years old boy and started asking for a ransom of 1.5million shillings from the parents of the kidnapped child

The suspect has been identified as Medad Musinguzi alias Nsenga Francis 21 years a resident of Omukashanda village Nyabushenyi parish Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district, for the alleged kidnap of a three year old male juveniles Aroni Atukunda a pupil at Excel centre community nursery school and a son to Alex Ankunda a mansion in Rukungiri district

According to the Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate said that on the 06/02/2023, at about 1700hrs, at Omukashanda village, the suspect who was a casual labourer in that home, allegedly kidnapped the victim and called the victim’s father using telephone number asking for a ransom of 1.5m Ugandan shillings as a condition of his release to return him to his parents.

ASP Maate said that report was made by the victim’s father,inquiries commenced, the victim was rescued and suspect arrested from his hideout through phone tracking on 07/02/2023 at about 1800hrs from Kinaba village Kanungu district.

He says that the victim was there after medically examined and handed over to the parents while in good condition.

Inquiries were ongoing, upon completion will be arraigned before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
