In Bushenyi—
Bushenyi district police report for robbery at Bishop Ogez high school early this month where less than ten million shillings was stolen indicates the head teacher for being relaxed.
However, one of the board members who attended a meeting after the robbery told www.mknewslink.com managing editor that the money stolen was over 35 million adding that they are still contemplating on whether to punish the head teacher or not.
Police report seen by www.mknewslink.com implicates the head teacher and other staff for keeping the money in the safe instead of the bank.
It however does not implicate the head teacher as a person who took part in the robbery but only says he was reluctant.
Bishop Ogez is one of the schools in greater Bushenyi with the highest number of students and generates a lot of money because each student pays 600,000 shillings in fees.
There was a robbery at Bishop Ogez high school Bushenyi on the night of 5th March 2022.
The robbery followed a school visitation which took place on the same date after which the money was kept at school instead of being deposited in the bank.
When contacted on the matter, the head teacher was non-committal and accused the media of writing only negative news advising www.mknewslink.com managing editor to continue and write whatever he wanted.
Bushenyi police PRO SP Martial Tumusiime told www.mknewslink.com that during the robbery, a security guard one Kamuhanda was severally injured and he was admitted at Mbarara regional referral hospital.
