TB DISEASE HITS HARD IN IBANDA

Medical health team in Ibanda municipality have expressed concern over high prevalence of T.B cases among the people especially who share the rooms with victims that are not ventilated. They said that even people who infected with disease share drinks on the same glasses while drinking waragi and others smoke from one cigarette. They called for effective treatment and advised the people to keep proper hygiene.
Mr. John Bosco Bareeberaho, the officer in charge of Bufunda health center 111 in Ibanda municipality said T.B infections are on the rise and the condition was increasing among the old people where cases of between two to three people reported at the center in three weeks.
Mr. Bareeberaho made the comments during VHTs dialogue meeting held at Bufunda health centre yesterday in Ibanda municipality.
According to Mr. Bareeberaho, the signs and symptoms include swelling and coughing that lasts for so many weeks and even months.
He urged VHTs to advise such people to report to the nearest health centers because the disease is treatable, advising victims to seek urgent treatment, in addition to ensuring proper personal hygiene.
The VHT and medical team also discovered high prevalence of hypatis B, diabetes and hypertension especially among the elderly and urinary track infections are also high among the residents.
