TEACHER MURDERED AFTER WITHDRAWING MONEY FROM BANK, BODY THROWN IN SWAMP

Police in Ibanda district are investigating circumstances under which a man was killed and his body dumped in a swamp.
Vicent Kahangi aka Kajura, a teacher at Kitagwenda Junior Primary school in Kamwenge district, was found dumped near Katooma mosque a long Katooma- Katehe road in Ibanda municipality. The body was first seen by some women returning from their gardens and herdsmen around 6.00 pm on Wednesday 27th June.
The O/C Ibanda police, Michael Akaturinda said that unknown people used a car which carried the body and took it to at a place called Katehe and dumped it and later took off.
Akaturinda identified the deceased as Vicent Kahangi a resident of Kagazi village in Kicece sub county, Kitagwenda County in Kamwenge district.
The LC 1 chairperson Kagazi village, John Abaho said that Vicent Kahangi went missing after he had withdrawn money from one of the commercial institutions in Ibanda town. He alleged that the killers might have followed him and persuaded him to board their car and promised to take him safely to his home, but the journey ended at Katehe swamp.
His unidentified amount of money and some important documents were taken before the body was dumped.
Several relatives and members of his family from different areas after receiving the sad news rushed to Ruhoko health center 1V where they identified the body of Kahangi. They made the arrangements and the body was taken to Kagazi for the burial.
