TEAR GAS IN KABALE AS SCHOOLS PLAYED POST COPA COCA COLA FINAL MATCH

Teargas last evening rocked Kabale Municipal stadium during the final match of the Kabale post primary Copa coca cola competitions.
The final march was between St. Marys College Rushoroza and Kigezi College Butobere.
However, before the match could begin, a fight erupted between students of the two schools and they started throwing stones at each other.
This forced police that was led by the commander of the Field Force Unit at Kabale Police Station, Henry Kisembo to useteargas to calm the situation and the match was played under tight
security.
St. Marys College Rushoroza emerged the winner of this years post primary Copa coca cola competitions for Kabale district after defeating Kigezi College Butobere by three goals to nil.
Speaking after the game, the Kabale district secondary schools association competitions committee Chairman Dalton Naturinda Masheija condemned the indiscipline that was shown by students during the final of the Kabale post primary Copa coca cola competitions.
Naturinda said that the district secondary schools association competitions committee will not tolerate such incidences by students during the competitions.
Handing over the trophy to the winners, the Chairperson of the Association of Secondary school head teachers of Uganda-ASSHU, Kabale Rev. Benon Byaruhanga asked the students who will represent their schools at the regional level in Rukiga district to observe discipline.
He said that football matches should be used to unite and bring together the schools but not to be an enemy to one another.
St. Marys College Rushoroza, Kigezi College Butobere and Lake Bunyonyi Community School will represent Kabale District at the regional level scheduled to take place on 4th April 2019 at Kabale – Bukinda Core Primary Teachers College in Rukiga district.
