In Mbarara—-
Residents of Byafura cell, Mbarara city were yesterday left in shock after a three storied building started to develop cracks, sinking beneath the ground.
The building which is located in Byafura cell along Victor Bwana road is a new building owned by a young entrepreneur Duncan Mpabwa and it has been under construction for three years though it houses some businesses including Black Bank Mbarara branch.
Richard Mugisha the deputy Mbarara city town clerk told www.mknewslink.com that the building had council’s approval though he thinks the site engineers could have used fake building materials.
Moses Ssembatya a resident said that the city engineer and the site engineer lacked coordination which gave a room to site engineers to use fake building materials.
By the time we filed this story police had sealed off the building, vacating people from the building in case of any possible danger that could lead to the death.
