TENSION, TEARGAS, FIGHTS THAT OCCURRED TODAY IN ISHAKA BEING RESOLVED IN HIGH LEVEL MEETING

The paralysis that has run for two days caused by street parking tax that was tendered by Muhammed Lukwago the chairman NRM Bushenyi Ishaka municipality and Personal Assistant to tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba is being resolved now by the Bushenyi RDC Jane Asiimwe Muhindo.
The traders led by Bamusiime Muhwezi raised 10 points and the meeting that is composed of district chairman, municipal top officials is answering point by point in Bushenyi municipal council hall.
The RDC in her communication asked traders to use peaceful means rather than resorting to demonstration.
She castigated behavior by some traders who printed placards saying “we don’t want Lukwago”. She noted that Lukwago is a Ugandan who deserves to live in his country.
The deputy town clerk communicated to the meeting and traders that collection of parking fees begins from 8:00am to 6:00pm for 30 days.
The quarrels and fights over parking fees came as a result of increment from 200 to 500
The RDC insisted that all municipalities in western Uganda charge 500 as parking fees therefore Bushenyi-Ishaka is not extra ordinary.
Today morning and yesterday evening, Ishaka town was full of tear gas businessmen having blocked roads until the ongoing meeting was planned by the RDC.
