THEFT OF YLP MONEY IN RUBANDA: BODABODA YOUTH GROUP TO PAY UGX9.7M WHICH THEY NEVER RECEIVED

Youths under Nyamiyaga Rwembugu boda boda youths group in Rubanda district have been summoned for defaulting ugx. 9,700,000/= which they received letter from youths livelihood national coordinating office Kampala.
Ngabirano Rauben the Bubaare youth’s councilor who also doubles as the chairperson of Nyamiyaga Rwembugu boda boda youths project located in Nyamiyaga parish, Bubaare Sub County Rubanda district told www.mknewslink.com they were told to open up an account in the bank through the district youths chairperson Mr. Twikirize Elvis Hallold and later were approved to be given in 2017 but since then they have never seen any money.
He added that they were however surprised to receive a letter demanding them to pay.
Hon. Niwashaba Owen who represents Nyamiyaga parish at Bubaare Sub County council confirmed the matter saying that during the council that was held on 27th March 2019 the Community Development Officer (CDO) Ms. Oliver presented this group as one of the beneficiaries of youth’s livelihood funds yet they had not benefited.
Elvis Twikirize the Rubanda district youths chairman said that the group went into all procedures but hasn’t yet benefited as alleged.
Twikirize called upon the members of this group to be calm and promised to follow up the matter up to its bottom.
While speaking with the District Community Development Officer (DCDO) Rubanda district Mr. Sabiiti Tophil said his office is aware of this group and confirmed that they have not benefited on the youths livelihood fund.
Sabiiti asked these youths not to worry saying that his office is going to handle it and assured them that they will benefit this financial year.
