As Uganda looks forward to begin campaigns for Members of Parliament on 9th of November 2020, campaign fever has risen in most of the areas.
People yearn to receive money from different candidates and some of them feel that one week is too long.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com on condition of anonymity, a lady from Central cell Bushenyi Ishaka municipality lamented that they are tired of useless legislators who go to parliament for their own benefits.
She added that this time, for any legislator to get her vote, she or he must first give her something.
“What have we gained from voluntarily voting them? They later forget about us and work for the benefit of their families, let them first pay for our votes,” she angrily said.
John Biryomumaisho a resident of Kyabugimbi told our reporter that to him legislators are no longer important since they do not represent their electorates well.
“Of what importance is a legislator? Would we lack good roads, schools, health centres, and other developments if they were of any use?
However, Fabian Gakyalo one of the MP aspirants in Igara East says that its high time people built their trust and elected candidates they believe are capable of serving them.
“Asking for material gains won’t help, choose capable and strong leaders, you won’t regret again,” Gakyalo assured voters while talking to our reporter.
