THREE ARRESTED OVER CAR THEFT IN HOIMA

Police in Hoima City are holding three suspects on allegations of car theft.
The motor vehicle registration number UAK 003K Premio silver in color which was stolen from Bujwahiya, Hoima on 9th April 2022 was recovered by police on Tuesday and three suspects are behind bars.
ASP Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson told our reporter on Tuesday evening that on 9th April 2022 Mr. Murungi Wandera made a report at Hoima City Central Police Station and they immediately dispatched a flying squad and the car was blacklisted using CCTV cameras.
Hakiza revealed that on Sunday 1st May 2022, the vehicle was sighted along Mpigi -Masaka road and police in Hoima were notified which informed the area police in Masaka thus intercepted it in Lukaya.
The police mouthpiece said the car had three occupants who were also arrested and transferred to Hoima city and are all behind bars.
Hakiza said the suspects are under interrogation and has also noted with concern that these stolen motor vehicles are being driven without number plates and for the case of motorcycles the number plates are always folded and one can not see the numbers clearly.
