THREE MBARARA MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS ARRESTED OVER BRIBE

Police in Mbarara under the command of RDC Lt. Col. James Mwesigye have arrested three Mbarara municipal enforcement officers for allegedly soliciting a bribe.
Col Mwesigye told www.mknewslink.com reporter that yesterday evening, Mbarara municipal enforcement team confiscated construction tools for one Sgt Silver Kiiza attached to SFC accusing him for putting up a structure without approved plan from the council.
RDC Mwesigye said that the SFC officer told him that
Stuart Musinguzi who was part of the enforcement officers asked for a bribe of shs 500,000 if his materials were to be given back to him.
Col. Mwesigye said that after knowing that they wanted money, he arranged with police and got shs 500,000 they had demanded, photocopied it before giving it to the officer.
Rwizi region Police spokesperson Samson Kasasira confirmed the arrest of the officers and that they will be charged of demanding money with menace and concealing information from police.
Kasasira identified the suspects as Stuart Musinguzi a law enforcement officer, David Mwebaza and Aaron Ainamani also workers at Mbarara municipal council.
Kasasira said they will be taken to court to answer to the charges once investigations are complete.
