THUGS STEAL LIGHTNING ARRESTERS AT KYAKAPEYA PRIMARY SCHOOL IN HOIMA

Unknown suspected thugs have made away with two lightning arresters from Kyakapeya primary school in Mparo division, Hoima district.
The school watchman was not available by the time suspected thieves attacked the school since schools were closed for Covid19 lockdown.
Jane Kyarisima, the Head teacher has said that they have been shocked to discover that the lightning arresters installed on the buildings housing the classes and staff room were missing.
She has added that they spent Shillings 2,000,000 to install the two lightning arresters to protect the lives of learners and teachers from lightning strikes.
She says the theft of the lightning arresters has raised fear about the safety of the pupils and teachers.
Justine Businge, one the parents says that it is unfortunate for thugs to expose the lives of their children at risk.
Nobert Kyakuhaire, the Kyakapeya LC1 Chairperson asked police to expedite investigation and apprehend those behind the theft.
Lighting has been striking the same school for several times and in 2004, one pupil lost life while several others were injured.
