TIMBITWIRE GIRLS’ SCHOOL CELEBRATES LATE RELEASED UNEB RESULTS
By Nato K Comrade
In Bushenyi–
Leaders have been challenged to learn how to face and deal with life
challenges instead of fighting one another.
This was yesterday said by the Chaplain of St. Mary’s Vocational school in
Bushenyi district Rev. Fr. Achilleo Kihembo while presiding over a
thanksgiving mass of Timbitwire girl’s secondary school- Kigoma in
Bushenyi district held at the school main hall.
The school has been giving thanks and celebrating the release of their
2017 Uganda certificate of Education examination results that had been
withheld by Uganda National examination Board.
Timbitwire girl’s Kigoma was among the 61 schools whose results were
withheld by the national examinations body on suspicion of exam
malpractice.
Following the incident, the school head teacher, Monic Arinitwe
appeared before UNEB authorities to find out why her school’s results
were withheld and after a series of engagements; the school’s results
were released on Thursday 1st March, 2018.
Now, citing the problems being faced by leaders in government,
Catholic Church and other religions, Fr. Kihembo said there is no
smooth life unless one dies thus urging leaders to do what they are
supposed to do to keep them sharp and healthy, and remind themselves
often that what they do is valuable.
The school head teacher, Monica Arinaitwe explained that the school
fell into a hot soup when examiners found that all 48 candidates
passed Biology which made them suspicious that they could have had
prior knowledge or external assistance.
Arinaitwe added that after the examinations body proved them innocent,
they later released their results unconditionally.
Owen Mugume, one of the school board of directors said no matter what
the current economic , political, and social realities are, the
challenge for leaders today is to define themselves, identify a vision
and set goals.
He directed the school head teacher to expel any student found
involving in malpractices even in a simple class test.
