TOUGH MEASURES SET UP TO FIGHT PORNOGRAPHY

The Director of Ethics and Religious Affairs; Rev. Canon Aaron Mwesigye has called for concerted efforts in the fight against pornography in the country.
Rev. Canon Mwesigye made the call today while addressing journalists at Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort portal municipality.
He noted that these days, women cannot cook for their husbands and
families because they spend much of their time in watching
pornography, which he condemns.
Dr. Annette Kezaabu Kasimbazi, the chairperson of the Pornography
Control Committee told journalists that as the committee, they have
moved forward in fighting pornography in the country.
Kezaabu says following the inauguration of the committee in September
last year, some people have now resorted to selling pornographic
materials in secrecy for fear of being apprehended. She however, says
the committee will use whistleblowers to enable apprehending people
who are secretly selling pornographic content.
Hon. Alex Ruhunda the Member of Parliament Fort portal municipality
asked cultural institutions to focus on fighting against pornography
in the country.
In his remarks, the Prime minister of Tooro Kingdom
Rt. Hon. Bernard Tungakwo promised to work together with the
pornography control committee to stop pornography.
Tungakwo recently strongly condemned a group of girls who had taken nude pictures while at the entrance of the kingdom palace in a seductive way.
On behalf the kingdom the prime minister regretted the acts of nudity.
