TOUGH TALKING NEW BUSHENYI-ISHAKA TOWN CLERK WARNS STAFF AGAINST REPORTING HIM TO MAYOR, COUNCILORS

IN BUSHENYI—
THE new town clerk Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality Paul Batanda has warned his staff to avoid rumourmongering and reporting him to the mayor and councilors in case of any problems.
He said this yesterday evening while delivering his maiden speech after being given the office. He noted that what he hates most are staff who report to the mayor that they have not received their allowances.
“Never blame me when you don’t get allowances because my job is to approve the vouchers and still reporting to the mayor is not a solution. Me am an open person and I like open people.”
Paul Batanda rather advised staff to always to come to his office and tell him openly rather that reporting him to the mayor or councilors.
The ministry of local government transferred Bushenyi-Ishaka town Deo Ndimo to Masindi municipal council and brought to Bushenyi Paul Batanda. He has been manning Masindi.
He was briefed before he came that Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality that staff there report town clerks to mayor in case of problems. This forced him to hit at them in his maiden speech.
He warned the procurement officer for the municipality because the Mayor Kamugasha has told the new town clerk areas where he has committed crimes. “Where is the procurement officer, he stands up, the mayor has told me that you have committed severel crimes but I will sit with you and you tell me why you do your work that way” Batanda warned
Town clerk Batanda noted that his first assignment will be install solar lights in te municipality. “I have done to Masindi municipality where I have worked before and I promise I will do it here” he revealed.
The outgoing Town clerk Deo Ndimo asked staff to forgive him where he could have stepped on their toys because such things happen while doing work.
During his close to four years of work in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality Ndimo interdicted about seven staff. He noted that he later reinstated them.
