The chairperson of Kisoro district tourism committee, Louis Bishubeho Turyagyenda has asked Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to develop perfection prayers in kwijuru as new activity in Mgahinga National Park.
Kwijuru that means heaven is a place in the national park that hosts over 100 species of Golden Monkey and bamboo plantation. Before colonial times, it was the home of gods and all tribes used to bring their harvests to offer prayers to the gods for good health, fertility and rain.
Bishubeho says this all changed when the colonists evaded Africa and introduced Christianity.
