TRADERS COUNT LOSSES AS UEDCL THROWS BULIISA INTO DARKNESS

Residents of Buliisa district are faulting the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited {UEDCL} which supplies power to the oil rich district after a power fluctuation on Tuesday afternoon caused havoc and burnt all the electric appliances in Biiso Town Council.
The most affected are appliances that were connected by the time of incident.
Abdul Karim, the Resident Managing Director Biiso FM told our reporter that the power burnt down all the electric gadgets worthy billions.
‘’The radio is off, all the electric appliances have been burnt, we have lost equipments worthy billions of money,’’ he explained.
Karim explains that they have already reported the matter to Biiso Police Station. ‘’We have also engaged our lawyer, we want the company to compensate us,’’ he said.
It’s also reported that the power has also burnt all the electric appliances that were connected by the time of incident.
Yiga Matovu the UEDCL Station Manager Buliisa explains that this was due to the broken conductor saying it wasn’t intentional.
‘
’We apologise for what has happened, it’s not intentional, but accidental,’’ he said.
Matovu said advised their customers to put their complaints in writing and they will be forwarded to the company’s headquarters in Kampala.
