TROUBLED MBARARA MUNICIPAL COUNCILORS START RECONCILIATION PROCESS

The Mbarara municipal mayor; Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi has called for reconciliation between two groups of councilors if they are to work for betterment of their town.
The Mbarara municipal councilors are divided into two groups, one linked to the former mayor; Wilson Tumwine and the other to Kakyebezi.
The divisionism in Mbarara municipal council has caused continuous fights among the councilors.
Incumbent councilors who appear to be allegiant to Wilson Tumwiine are fighting against their new counterparts who are allegiant to Kakyebezi.
Kayebezi’s group accuses Wilson Tumwiine of grabbing the public land at Nyamityobora during his office tenure which attracted the Bamugemereire commission to sit in Mbarara and quiz the former mayor over the land acquisition.
Amos Katureebe, a municipal councilor was recently attacked by unidentified people at his home who poured acid on his body leaving him in grave pain. He is now admitted in one of Kampala hospitals.
The municipal speaker; Bonny Karusya Tashobya was arrested by police as a prime suspect
