TV WEST JOURNALIST TORMENTOR FINALLY APPEARS IN COURT

Dr.Davis Asiimwe; the in charge Kabwohe health centre1V has today appeared before Grade one magistrate’s court at Kagango where he was charged with malicious damage on property and causing actual bodily harm.

Prosecution told court that on 29th November 2017 while at Kabwohe health centre1V assaulted Sheikh Abudalatif; a TV west journalist, causing bodily harm and consequently damaged his video camera worth 2.4 million shillings.
Appearing before court, Asiimwe pleaded not guilty to the charges and applied for a bail.
He was released at a non cash bail of one million shillings after presenting Denis Mubangizi as his surety who was also granted non cash bail of one million shillings.
It is alleged that Abudalatiff was assaulted when he was investigating circumstances under which a woman was registered for ARVs drugs at Kabwohe health centre IV yet she was HIV negative.
The woman identified as Faridah Kiconco went to Kabwohe health centre 1V while ill and the doctor there took blood samples from her before he recommended her for HIV/AIDS treatment.

Kiconco was put on daily ARVS until after two years when she was proved that she had never been HIV positive.
