TWO ARRESTED FOR STEALING ROAD SIGNS IN MBARARA

Police in Mbarara city have two suspects in their custody who were found in possession of Road Signs.
The two suspects were identified by police as Agaaba Bashir and Tumwine Geoffrey all residents of Kisenyi, Kakoba division, Mbarara city south.
According to ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Police mouthpiece, the two were arrested in the ongoing operation by security teams aimed at apprehending all the wrong doers in the city.
Kasasira said that the operations went down yesterday in the areas of Kisenyi and Kijungu Market cell where police have been receiving complaints from the residents about robbery.
He further noted that police managed to recover road signs which the two suspects had in their residence.
“We managed to recover some of the road signs from the suspects which they used to sale to scrap buyers,” Kasasira added.
Byansi Muhammad the Lord councilor for Kakoba in Mbarara city council applauded police’s action saying that these operations will restore sanity in the area.
By press time the two suspects were still detained at Mbarara central police station awaiting charges.
