TWO ARRESTED IN KISORO OVER TORTURE

The territorial police of Kisoro have arrested the two suspects who were seen in a video circulating on social media torturing two male juveniles by tying them to kandoya and beating them that were disciplining them in Kisoro district
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the suspects as Gerald Byiringiro aged 34 years and Emmanuel Mugisha 47years both residents of Gakoro cell Gasasa ward Bunagana town council Kisoro district who allegedly tortured the two victims identified as Fred Manishimwe 11 years and Allan male both residents of the same above address.
ASP Maate told journalists on Thursday evening that some time back in November 2022, at Gakoro cell, the two juveniles were got after having broken into the house of Nyirabagenyi Sylivia with the aim of stealing and that’s when were subjected to the assault as a way of disciplining them since the suspects are uncles to the victims.
The two suspects were arrested ton 12/01/2023 after the said torture video went viral and are in custody ready to appear before courts of law t since inquiries are complete.
The Police Spokesperson notes that cases of torture were registered at Bunagana police station in Bunagana Town council Kisoro District under reference number CRB 039/2023.
