TWO BROTHERS CONNIVE, KILL OWN 64 YEAR OLD FATHER OVER LAND IN ISINGIRO

Two brothers Isingiro District have conspired and murdered their own father for attempting to sale off part of his family land.

Mzee Tuwangye Karoli aged 64 a resident of Butenga village, Birere sub county Isingiro district was on 24^th Sept 2019 last night murdered by his own two sons Makofu Purinari and Nuwebaruga Phillip accusing him of attempting to sale off part of the land in order to raise money and cater for his other domestic needs.

According to Konde Swaibu one of the deceased’s sons, his brothers came home looking for the deceased at around 7:00pm and later they gave him twenty thousand shillings to go and buy some soft drinks from a nearby shop for him (their father).

The drinks he bought included one bottle of beer specifically for their father whom they killed with machetes before serving it to him.

The cousin sister of the deceased Komuhangi Leonard said he was dragged from his house and killed in an adjacent house belonging to Makofu Asimwe Purinari whom he gave some piece of land a few years back.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com, the Butenga Chairman LCI Sabiiti Asaph said that they trailed and arrested Makofu Purinari from Kaberebere town council about five kilometers away from the scene of murder as he tried to escape.

He added that the misunderstanding originated from a land grudge they had developed following disagreement between them and their father over the sale of part of the family land.

The OCCID Kaberebere Police station Mbaramye Justus confirmed the incident saying police will device all means to have the second son one Nuwebaruga Phillip also arrested.

He advised youths to work hard in order to avoid being in conflict with their parents over family property.

Dr. Monday Christopher Araali said that the body had two deep cut wounds at the back of the head which went through the skull hence causing serious brain injury that led to his death.
