Two people have died after they drowned into the waters of Lake Albert at Kijangi landing site in Buseruka Sub County in Hoima district.
They have been identified as Baguma Charles Tunduru 25 and Musinguzi David Byagira 33, both residents of Kigwera South West, Kigwera Parish, Kigwera sub county Bulisa district.
According to Mark Bikanga the relative to the deceased, the two were brothers and they died on Monday while they had gone to catch fish.
He adds that they were seven on the canoe but the one identified as Baguma Charles Tunduru had entered the waters to trap fish and by the time he came out of the waters he found when the wind had blown away the canoe they were using which made him had to swim to where the canoe was.
Bikanga adds that this prompted Musinguzi David Byagira to jump off the canoe to go and rescue his brother who also failed mid-way leading to the death of all of them.
Bikanga also says that the bodies were discovered and they are to be buried tomorrow in Kigwrea south west, Kigwera sub county Bulisa district.
When contacted the Abertine Police spokesperson, Allan Julius Hakiza to comment on the matter, he said that he had no information about the incident since the relatives never reported to police.
